a funny adventure at GREENBOX

Teacher Kai VS. Little Abby

Definition of Terms

Greenbox - School where i am teaching
Teacher Kai - my Code Name
Little Abby - the 75% Chinese and 25% Filipino little four year old girl na may topak (sabi ni kuya Morris yan ha); student ko sa piano

Kuya Morris - my bossing and may ari ng Greenbox
Ate Melon - wife ni kuya Morris
Teacher Mayang - conservative and mabait former teacher of Lil Abby
Little John - the nerd looking, encourager, and makulit 75% Chinese and 25% Filipino nine year old brother of Little Abby

Brother Bong - my older brother
Jerwin Ro - 50% Danish and 50% Filipino good looking kid and my original guitar student

Background of the Study

10:00am this morning, i received a text message from Kuya Morris that Teacher Mayang can no longer teach her piano students because she is leaving na from work.. Now.. Kuya Morris says it is urgent.. i have to take over her piano classes today and let my brother Bong take over my guitar lessons with Jerwin.. so i said OK, no problem..

General Methodology

I prepared Jerwin's guitar lessons and prepared my 10 year old piano books and pieces for my class in piano.. Went to school around 3PM and found out that Jerwin is not going to make it sa guitar lessons nya kasi conflict sa sched ng basketball practice nya in Ateneo.. fast forward.. here comes 4PM Little Abby and Little John came.. oooohhhh.. they are so cute.. hhmm.. cute talaga basta hindi pure instik..kasi di nagmumukhang..ehem..trisomy21! ehehe..i hope you know what that means.. anyway.. Kuya Morris warned me on Abby.. may topak daw.. so dapat ilingaw2x mo nalang..hehe.. and yun.. may topak nga.. She told me.. teacher, teacher..what's your name? So answered, I am teacher Kai.. teacher, teacher, what's your favorite color? woah! i was strucked with that question.. so I still replied.. hhmm..blue.. Teacher, teacher.. you know i like orange.. So i smiled at her and yun.. So i asked her where did she and Teacher Mayang ended in the John Thompson's Easiest Piano Course books.. she did not replied and i asked her pointing the pages of the book .. Abby, are you done with this lesson already? Abby: YES... and she kept answering YES until I am at the last part of the book.. but thank goodness for kuya John that He told me that abby's lesson is on "Mary had a little Lamb" .. but Abby does not seem interested with the lesson..kasi she said.,.teacher, teacher.. i want to draw do re mi .. so i checked her envelopes.. and yes it contained many long bond papers and crayons.. so i let her draw a staff but she made me draw the G-clef..im having fun.!

teacher kai: abby, what's my name again?
abby: teacher.... ahhhhmmm.. teacher.... aahhhmm.. teacher  KAI!
teacher kai:  yey..! hehehe
abby: *drawing na sya ng mga notes* *picks the color of her choice*
teacher kai: abby, can we play "Mary had a little lam" now?
abby: i dont like..
teacher kai: hhmm.. okay.. so what do you want to do..?
abby: play Mr. Bean's ten-de-de-den!

so ako naman ay nagpauto sa bata and played mr. bean's ten-de-de-den! abby giggled and laighed so hard.. and said...

abby: teacher kai, I love you..
teacher kai: what? what did you just told me...? *smiles*
abby: I love you..
teacher kai: ooohhh.. i love you too abby... hehe.. (you know.. that was the most pleasant thing that i have ever heard from somebody today)

John: teacher, can you play barnie's song?
teacher kai: yup! okay.. but you two have to sing with me, okay?
John and Abby: yes teach!

so i played barnie's song.. i love you, you love me.. we're a happy family.. blah blah..wow.. okay pla maging teacher.. i checked the watch and i still have to be with them for an hour pa..

Abby: teacher Kai.. can you play me another song?
teacher kai: ok then.. but promise me that you have to play "Mary had a little Lamb" after this, okay?
Abby: *nods*

then i played Brahm's famous composition.. "joyful, joyful we adore thee"

abby: teacher, teacher.. teach me to play that song..
teacher kai: ok..

i held her tiny hand and made her touch those keys.. now i know she is already enjoying.. but on the other hand.. kuya John is starting to interrupt our class.. nagaplay2x na rin sya sa piano with the "mary had a little lamb" tune..

abby: kuya, no!
john: i hate you.. you hate me.. hahaha..
abby: teacher, o!

teacher kai: hhmm.. john, please take that chair first and let abby concentrate.. you will have your turn later.. ok?
john: ok ok! :)

and then the story continues.. i ended up making abby play that "mary had a little lamb" ... i made her sat at my lap as we touch the piano keys.. and then tickled her and laughed with the two kids.. wow! that was really great.. so finally.. their dad arrive.. abby got up.. and went to her dad..

abby: daddy, si teacher Kai o.. hehe..daddy..

then she sat at my lap again.. ooohhh.. she's so heavy.. and we played that "mary had a little lamb" again.. until she finally told me..

abby: teacher kai.. where can i drink water?
teacher kai: aahh...
abby: teacher kai.. im hungry.. pagod na ako..
teacher kai: okay then.. sige.. you can go now.. see you again abby..
abby: opo.. bye bye teacher kai.. i love you..
teacher kai: yes abby, i love you too..bye..

then she kissed me in the cheek and asked ..

abby: teacher kai, what is your shampoo.. your hair smells good..
teacher kai: thanks.. hehe... it's head and shoulders..
abby: bye..

and they left..

haaayyy... what a wonderful day..

now im loving this work.. "teacher, teacher.."

hehehe...

1 Peter 5:2-11

1Peter 5:2-11

Care for the flock of God entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly - not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God. Dont lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your good example. And when the head Sheperd comes, your reward will be a never-ending share in his glory and honor.

You younger men, accept the authority of the elders. And all of you, serve each other in humilty for

"God sets himself against the proud, but he shows favor to the humble."

So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and his good time he will honor you. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about what happens to you. Be careful! Watch out for attacks from the Devil, your great enemy. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for some victim to devour. Take a firm stand against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are.

In His kindness God caled you to his eternal glory by means of Jesus Christ. After you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. All power is his forever and ever. Amen

God is good! :)

In His Presence There is Fullness of Joy!

"You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of Joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore" Psalms 16:11

With God, there is fullness of joy! I thank the Lord for what He is doing in my life now. I thought that I'd be lost in my own way forever but because of the friends that He has blessed me with, I was brought back to the arms of The One who owns me - Jesus Christ. I may sound too unbelievable but I say that it is true. Thank God for Joshua Gen, i already found my starfish..and I pray that someday, I'll be able to make a difference. Thank God for my friends for not giving up on me. Today, I realized that God showed me His undying love through my friends-- that whoever I am and whatever I have done, He will still accept me for He loves me. God is good, and He will remain good forever!

I'm excited for the upcoming Youth Summer Camp at Quezon, Bukidnon! It will be my first time to act as a counselor in one of the girl's dorm. Wow.. buti nalang hindi ako nakapag-summer class kasi i wont be able to attend the camp and experience this once in a lifetime oppurtunity..I was comforted with one of my classmate-friend yesterday when she said, "Sige, ienjoy mo muna yan kasi minsan lang yan mangyari, anyway, hindi naman mawawala ang school eh. Pagbalik mo, anjan parin yan!" and sabi ko rin, "tama nga noh?" *smiles* I attended the youth summer camp (Summer Educational Program) first time as a camper last April 4, 1998 here in my dakilang lungsod ng Dabaw, Camp Alano. Since the summer of '98 I was blessed to attend the SEP for 6 consecutive summers as a camper. In the SEP of '99 May 4, I was baptized through water baptism, I was 13 years old then. In Year 2000, I was blessed to attend the SEP in Visayas (Seaside Haven, Pinamungahan, Tajao, Cebu) and I met the guys and gals there from all parts of Visayas and Mindanao. In 2001, again, we were blessed to attend the SEP in the same resort in Cebu. FOr me, that was the best SEP ever! Ang galing ng dorm4G! I still remember the smiles and laughters which i gained. I also met my dearest friend CHRISTINE ADELLE RICO in 2001 SEP. Can't forget those times.. SEP 2002, Kaamulan Park Bukidnon, I met Iris Doann Baulete there, somehow helped her be lead to Christ. SEP 2003, the Visayas people joined us in the Camp. There i met those sweet girls from Cebu, Joyce, Rhoda, Madel and the others (I consider them as my younger sisters, love ko sila) and this was the most memorable SEP ever. This was the last SEP that i attended as a camper, and there i found out that I am already ready to be one of the staff for the next camp.
Youth Summer Camp (SEP) 2004, Initao Osamis Oriental, first time ko as an Asst. Counselor for dorm1G, there I learned some Spanish because of my Zamboangeña camper. Youth Summer Camp 2005 (SEP) Ardent Hot Springs Camiguin Island, 2nd time as an Asst. Counselor for dorm 2G, wow..my campers were great and astig! and now.. here comes Youth Summer Camp '06.. I still dont know yet my dorm assigment, but im ready to take the challenge as a Counselor.. I hope to meet my Asst. COunselor na.. Im glad that Adelle is joining too, Counselor rin yan! hehe.. 5days:11hours:50mins:54seconds to go, SEP na!

Kai's Mode: Excited to Experience SEP!

Joshua Generation

Friday afternoon, we left davao city with my friends anelyn, swit, sharon, pedz, ian, jon, russell, pearl, raymond and my brothers bong and bombet together with my pop and kua ben adornado..

while we were on our way, i felt so excited about the JoshGen and even asked the others to share why they were coming to CDO too.. For me, i wanted to be there because i want to be equipped in organizing a youth ministry and how to deal with it. I never thought that the others have the same passion too.. we all wanted to be used by God through the youth ministry. SOme of us also wants to be redirected to God's link.. through our conversation inside the van, i know each of were inspired and motivated. we arrived at CDO around 9.00 in the evening, the others from butuan and cdo were already there. Of course, as usual, we talked to the others about our trip and all.. we stayed at the abao's residence for the duration of the conference.

JoshGen day 1:

I woke up around 8 in the morning with my tummy grumbling of starvation! haha.. breakfast has not arrived yet. After taking a bath and stuff, i went to the church hall and tried to play their new instruments! wow.! they really have good ones.. PEARL Export Series (new model), good guitars, and a 7-octave Yamaha keyboard! wow.. those were very nice! the others from all parts of bukidnon, initao, lanipao, zamboanga, hasaan, iligan, and many more arrived. The praise and worship was very great! Anyway, adelle and me sat  in the first row of chair since we were late in the praise and worship.I didnt know na same kami ni adelle na nagagalit sa self kasi lagi nalang kami sumasagot sa mga questions..baka we were monopolizing the seminar.. haha.. yun.. wow,, the best talaga si LORD! well..kapoy na discuss sa other stuffs!

JoshGen day 2: I found my starfish

Sige lang ko cry.. hehe.. tears of joy.. hehe.. I was singing "In Your presence, there is fullness of Joy,.." in my head.. that was my first time to receive the communion na with all my heart.. hahayyy.. ang daming nangyari,.. Mabuti nalang i have friends like adelle na hindi nag-gigive up sa akin.. hahayy.. ill let you know when the time comes tapos iallow na ni Lord.. hahayy...

we went home na by monday 9am.. we ate our breakfast sa mcdo..lunch at jollibee valencia, and dinner at golden brown davao. all those were God's blessings and libre! hehe.. nga pla.. while we were on our way na sa davao..may na create kami na song.. eto sya (i wish i could perform the actions, it is an action song by the way:

Ang Balay ni Superman

GOD is good..

im learning to love this song sa ngayon... luma na pero for me, it's a classic...

 Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.

Refrain

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Refrain

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Refrain

Great is Thy faithfulness!
