Get a Lipo, Hippo!

When one has to write about tumescent liposuction, first he should be researching about it like what I am doing right now. Liposuction is the most commonly performed cosmetic procedure in the United States. It is also referred to as liposculpture, lipoplasty, and suction-assisted lipectomy. The ideal candidate is physically fit and eats well-balanced meals but is unable to reduce a fatty deposit that is well localized and often seems to involve a genetic susceptibility.

The several advantages of the tumescent approach include the following:

*Less blood is lost.

*Intravenous fluid replacement is not necessary.

*Bacteriostatic lidocaine may decrease the risk of infections.

*Tumescence magnifies defects, therefore, the likelihood of needing a secondary, procedure may be less.

*Vasoconstriction minimizes absorption.

*The epinephrine may increase the cardiac output, which, in turn, hastens the hepatic metabolism of lidocaine.

So, what are you waiting for? Go and get a lipo, hippo!

Rated K: Kakaloka

I can’t help but envy Korian Sanchez’ work, she always have a chance to eat in the different restaurants here in the Philippines, in San Diego banquets, and in the world! Again in Rated K, while we were having our chicken adobo and rice dinner, I was drooling over her steaks and veggie salads on TV. I hope I will have my chance too.harhar.. wish ko lang!

My brother Bombet says he doesn’t envy Korina’s work that much, because he said, if he have a chance to grab somebody else’s job, it will be Marc Nelson’s in Sports Unlimited. According to him, he will not only experience extreme sports and fun, but he will also have the chance to see those girls on bikinis when they will be assigned on Bora or in Siargao. Haha.. silly brother! I didn’t know he also have these “lustful thoughts”. Hhhmmm… I’m watching PBB now, so I will be back on my blogging later. God bless y’all.

Happy Father's Day!

We were all joking our dadi about his baldness. I know how he really values his hair. I remember my greatgrandmother thru him. I remember my lola when she keeps every hair that falls from her head and curls them up in a stick—collecting them one by one. When she died, we found lots of my lola’s hair on sticks when we cleaned her room. When my dadi gets his most-wanted birthday present from me, having a hair restoration in Princeton, I know he will really be happy. *sigh* I miss my dadi very much. I hope we will all be together there in Dubai soon. Harhar…

Here’s an excerpt of my dad’s letter to the church congregation for the Father’s Day:

“there are 365 days in a year, and many years have passed and may just have slipped away without us really thinking so much and so deeply about our role as fathers. For everyday of all those days in a year, were everyday opportunity for us fathers to really appreciate this God-given privilege of being a husband and a father. But we may have just put them aside. maybe because so many things come our way everyday that we did not mind who we are and what we are supposed to be and to do. Nevertheless, i can make it today, here and now.”

 ----

“My wish is that not just for today but as often as possible, all husbands will say this also to their wives and to their children:

To my wife, Aida, my lover and my best friend, I dedicate my life to you. You amaze me more every day making it so special. When God gave you to me, He gave me the very best.

Your unconditional love and enthusiatic spirit have made me into the man that I am today.

I love you.

To my children, Bong, Bing, Bombet, Bambi and Bimboy, my precious treasures. You bring me more joy than I could have ever hoped for. You are God's wonderful blessings to me that sometimes I think I do not deserve to have. I couldn't ask God for more. Being your father is my greatest reward. I love you too.

To all the mothers and their children, thank you for being there for your husbands and to your fathers. To all the fathers out there, we still have a lot of days to make bawi to our shortcomings. Our greatest days are still ahead of us! Let us all commit to dedicate our lives and to live the best that we can as husbands and fathers.”

Kublai Millan

Again in RATED K of Ms. Korina Sanchez @ ABS-CBN, they have featured Kublai Millan’s artworks. Kublai Millan is from Davao City—my very own birthplace! I didn’t know that the centennial statue near San Pedro Cathedral, the large image of Jesus Christ on the cross, the very large durian in the Davao International Airport, the statues in the College of Science in Math in my former school, UP in Mindanao, and anywhere here in Mindanao are his master pieces. I was awed by how he made of himself, by how he acknowledges the God who gave him his talent, and everything. I think I already became his instant fan while I was watching him speak on TV in his interview with Korina. His artworks, according to the story, were supposed to be in an art exhibit in the United States, but it didn’t succeed since he wasn’t granted a US Visa just because of having a Muslim-sounding name. What’s the big deal about bringing some artwork in the US with an artist whose name is Kublai? Oh no.. I am getting carried away. Harhar. If Kublai’s going to ask George Lindemann Jr. for help, maybe he will have the chance to showcase his artworks to the whites. I am proud of him—really very proud.

Stem Cell Treatment

In tonight’s Rated K, they featured the latest medical innovation—the stem cell treatment. Being a nursing student, I certainly know what a stem cell is. I just didn’t get the whole thing about the treatment, how they do it, and everything because my mom was constantly asking me lots of stuffs while I was watching the tv.  Anyway, these medical stuffs make my heart beat faster. It makes me really excited on what is going to happen, 5-10 years from now. Just like when plastic surgery in Washington DC started years and years ago, and how they have come to search for remedies for HIV, and yes, cancer, I felt very happy about it. At least, it gives the sick people a source of hope for the healing from their illnesses.

July 21st will be our capping and pinning ceremony, and I am very excited to receive my cap and my pin. Be there and bring me some flowers and gifts. *smiles*
